Cycles is an independent short written, directed, and produced by Lilian Welwood. The story follows, 17 year old, Fey, as she navigates the challenges of her relationship with her mother, Dua, and her menstrual health issues. Experiencing a prolonged menstrual cycle due to her birth control , an IUD, Fey must find a solution fast in hopes of ending the tension it brings between her and her mother. In this story, we navigate the pain caused by those closest to us and the diversity of menstrual stories. With an AFAB (assigned female at birth) and women-majority set, Cycles aims to normalize conversations around menstrual cycles for anyone experiencing them and educate those who don’t.
